EVAN DERVELOY

Evan is a CrossFit Level 2 trainer and NESTA Certified Personal Trainer. He is a veteran of the United States Army and served 6 years as a Combat Medic. He was introduced to CrossFit in 2005 while in the Army and realized the application of fitness for combat and life required conditioning more diverse than just running and lifting weights. Evan views all of life as potential training exercises, and understanding this, Evan seeks to advance North Louisiana's understanding and expression of movement to a degree of virtuosity previously unrealized.  

Evan and his wife Lauren also own Bossier City CrossFit, and the methods and philosophy taught at both are the result of years of training, education, and proven metrics of success. Our mission has always been to make you save money on healthcare, learn to use your body and avoid injury, look better naked, and become harder to kill.

LAUREN DERVELOY

Lauren, wife to Evan, is a CrossFit Level 2 and CrossFit kids trainer. Lauren has always been a dancer with an active lifestyle, but nothing compared to the results that she found doing CrossFit. As a mom of two kids under two years old, CrossFit has been the reason she can keep up with them, her husband, while also running her business and dance team. She found her passion for coaching after coming to Louisiana Tech to coach the Regal Blues dance team. Her mission as a CrossFit trainer is to inspire others to meet their goals through hard work and passion. Together with her husband Evan, they are excited to develop a community of athletes who want to reach the apex of their health and fitness potential.

BRYCE ROGERS

Bryce Rodgers is the General Manager of Crossfit Ruston. Bryce played high school baseball and football at West Monroe High School. After many years out of sports and working out, he found Crossfit Ruston and soon realized Crossfit was exactly what he needed. He loves every aspect of CrossFit and after watching the Games and doing the open he really wanted to dive in more. He was coaching part-time in the evenings along with being a full-time electrician. He soon realized that his one true passion was helping and serving the members of Crossfit Ruston! A year after coaching part-time he left his electrician job and became a full time coach. Bryce loves the community at Crossfit Ruston and looks forward to serving even more.  He loves his new career and wants to help everyone be successful in every aspect of life.

Jamie Corley

Jamie is in the process of receiving her Crossfit Level 1 Certification. She formerly played basketball at University at Louisiana at Monroe until 2005. While there, they won the Southland Conference Championship in 2005. Jamie has always enjoyed working out during and after college, but was introduced to Crossfit in the summer of 2017 by her coworkers at 1st Franklin Financial Corp of where she has worked full-time since 2008. Jamie and her coworkers Allison and Holly, have managed to win branch of the year of North Louisiana every year since the branch opened. She also serves as an Ambassador for the Ruston Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.  Immediately upon signing up for Crossfit Ruston, she fell in love with the people and how competitive it is and how much everyone there pushes you to be the best you can in every aspect of life. Jamie has one child named Jersey Kate that she named after a basketball jersey.

Nicole Defee

Nicole is proud to be one of the OGs of CrossFit Ruston. She and her husband discovered CF in 2012, and as soon as CFR opened its doors, they jumped right in and never looked back. Nicole was a high school and NAIA Division II collegiate athlete in Cross Country and coached swimming in high school and college. Though she still enjoys running, she finds few things more satisfying than lifting heavy objects quickly and with a purpose with like minded and supportive people. Nicole also has a Ph.D. in English which may seem like a bit of an incongruity with coaching, but she believes that the mind cannot be strong if the body is weak. CrossFit helps her keep up with her very sweet, but extremely active toddler (and occasional assistant coach), and she hopes to be a role model for her daughter (and whoever else needs one) who models strength, intelligence, wit, discipline, and honesty. And there's no place other than CFR where she'd rather do that.

RICK DIAMOND

I'm Rick Diamond and Crossfit Ruston saved my life.

I know that might sound like I'm exaggerating, but I don't believe I would have lived past 40 if I continued down the path I was on.

I was 350 pounds at 19 years old, and addicted to both fast food and sugar before joining Crossfit Ruston. I ate at least one full sized box of Oreos or Chips Ahoy (sometimes more) per day. That's terrible by itself, but I was also eating TWO large combo meals from various fast food restaurants every day with no physical exercise whatsoever. I couldn't even walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath and sweating bullets. I could feel my heart skipping beats throughout the day, and I would lose my breath at random moments.

My blood pressure was 150/95 with a resting pulse of 130 beats per minute. After 11 months of doing Crossfit I have lost 125 pounds, my blood pressure was down to 110/70, and my resting pulse was 50 beats per minute.

jeff goodwin

Jeff is a CrossFit Level 1 trainer. Jeff has been a swimmer majority of his life, and while being a swimmer was great, he was looking for something a little more. In 2015 Jeff started his CrossFit journey at CFA in Alexandria. While there he heard of a gym in Ruston (his future college town) and checked it out as soon as he got to town; the rest was history. Jeff is currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering at Louisiana Tech. Jeff’s goal is to instill the drive to constantly better oneself in and out of the gym!

david guerrero

David is a Christian, Husband, Father, and a U.S. Marine. He hails from New Braunfels, Texas and has lived in Ruston since December 2017 with his wife, daughter, and son. His athletic background consists of high school football, track, and powerlifting; Division I college football; and being a Marine. He was introduced to CrossFit in 2011 by performing Fran for his first workout. David then developed his CrossFit capability by following main-site and reviewing their points of performance. In 2015, he began being coached and has been an avid participant throughout. His passion for CrossFit lies in the tenant of developing better human beings and eradicating chronic disease through nutrition and functional movements. Through coaching, he believes he can aide others in increasing their love, respect, and confidence for themselves. A graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy, David has an Ocean Engineering
degree and has served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Logistics Officer for six years. Recently, he has transitioned to a civilian profession and is a Reliability Engineer. He is currently enrolled at Texas A&M University and is working on a Masters in Energy.

Matt is a CrossFit Level 1 trainer. He has coaching and training experience in weightlifting, powerlifting, swimming, and running. Currently nearing the end of a Kinesiology degree at LaTech, he was introduced to CrossFit back in 2014. After some years of not attending, he found CrossFit Ruston in October 2017 and hasn’t stopped since.

erin hanna

Erin is a CrossFit Level 1 trainer. She grew up playing many different sports, but her true love was softball. She played infield for tournament teams and was the varsity pitcher at her high school. When she graduated high school, she chose to focus on academics instead of playing sports. This left a void which resulted in a vicious cycle of random workouts, yo-yo dieting, and a lack of self-confidence. This went on for years until she found CrossFit Ruston in the fall of 2013. She loved the community and that her body could do more than she ever thought it could.

In 2015, everything changed. Erin was diagnosed with breast cancer at an extremely young age. The CrossFit Ruston community rallied around her with love, encouragement, and support. She knows that the healthy lifestyle that CrossFit introduced into her life kept her alive.

Erin is a High School Art Teacher by day, and a CrossFit coach by night. She is giving back to the very community that helped save her life. She became a CrossFit Level 1 trainer in December 2017, and thoroughly enjoys helping people realize their true potential.

Tina Mydland North

Tina was born in Norway and competed in Country Line Dance(waltz, smooth, cuban, novelty, funk) as a teenager. She became the Norwegian champion and placed 4th in the World Championship before she moved to the U.S. After having her son in 2009 she started working out at home and at a local gym where she got stuck in a routine and seeing little results. She found Crossfit Ruston in 2015 and couldn’t wait to join with her best friend. Three years later she is loving everything about CFR, how it makes her feel, the family she gained, showing her son a healthy way of life. Her goal is to help other people feel good about themselves and achieve their goals.

jeremy neece

Jeremy is an Army Master Fitness Trainer. He is currently serving in the United States Army’s Active Guard and Reserve program as a Supply NCO. He has served in the past as a Combat Medic and a Combat Engineer. He was introduced to CrossFit while serving overseas and instantly knew it would have a positive impact on his and his Soldier’s tactical performance. The connection between how we move tactically and how we move athletically lead Jeremy to obtain the Army’s Master Fitness Trainer title.

Jeremy and his wife Nicole are both coaches at CrossFit Ruston. They have realized numerous health benefits from their training as well as being able to pass that positive experience on to the athletes. In 2018 their daughter Olive joined the CrossFit Ruston community as a 4 year old child athlete with a bright future.

Tj pittman

TJ is a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and standing at 6’5” he is the official “giant”of Crossfit Ruston. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Pre Law Concentration from Louisiana Tech University. During high school he was your typical cross country runner really tall and really skinny. Seeking to go from scrawny to brawny he joined CrossFit in July of 2017, with his first workout being Murph. TJ has a passion for motivating others to achieve to their fullest potential and enjoys encouraging athletes to let loose and have fun.

WILL SOLITO

Will Solito is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. His love for staying active all started when he was four years old when he started swimming competitively. After an injury from high school football Will decided he would try CrossFit out to regain his strength. Ever since his first workout in 2013, Will has been hooked on CrossFit ever since. Currently Will is a student at Louisiana Tech pursuing a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Political Science. Will wants to instill his love for CrossFit on everyone he coaches and help them become the best CrossFitter they can be!

Marley is currently a PhD student at Louisiana Tech University. In high school she participated in varsity track and field, alpine ski racing, waterpolo, and swimming, ultimately becoming a Division III collegiate swimmer. The high intensity, camaraderie, and self-empowerment of CrossFit was a perfect match to her goal of maintaining her active lifestyle after college. The missions and values that drive CFR made her instantly feel at home and grateful to be a part of the team. Marley hopes to teach people, especially women, that they are capable of whatever they set their mind to and to be proud of their strength.

Trojan, know as "Troj", is the faithful cheerleader of CFR. He will watch your every rep, and has a terrible obsession with bananas...so don't leave those in your gym bag! Don't let his size fool you! He's the friendliest coach on the roster!
