Heath Hanna

My name is Heath Hanna and I am a Crossfit addict! I never thought there was any way I would be where I am now when I came for my evaluation. Like most 39yr old men I had gotten stuck in a rut with work and life, and never really made the time to workout anymore. I tried to get into running, but it never was really my thing. Ashley Fallin had been after me for awhile to give Crossfit a try, so finally I gave in and made the call. I was tired of being out of shape, and wanted to make a drastic change. I also knew after my eval with Evan that I had a long way to go, and it was going to be the hardest thing I have ever done. I signed up anyway, and figured I would start out with just a couple times a week to get started. Well even though It hurt to even roll over in bed after the first week, I was hooked. Shortly after I went up to three days a week, and eventually went to unlimited. My main goal like most everyone was to lose a little weight, so I set my goal at 20lbs. Well here I am after about 8 months of getting my butt kicked and I have lost a total of 30lbs, gone down 3 pant sizes and most importantly I am in the best shape of my life! I feel better at 39 than I did at 29. I am also eating much healthier, and trying my best to eat as close to Paleo as I can. I never even thought about trying to do a muscle up when I started, but to date my PR is 11 in a row. I know I still have a long way to go with the lifts, but that's the whole fun of Crossfit. Yes you are somewhat competing with others, but more importantly you are competing with yourself to improve everyday. I tell everyone I can about Crossfit when they ask me how I lost weight. Alot of people say "I'm not in good enough shape to do that", and I tell them quick that neither was I. I tell them you don't have to be in shape when you start, but you sure as hell will be if you put in the work, and especially after you get addicted like I have. I tell everybody that if they seriously want to get into better shape, Crossfit Ruston is the only place to go. I tell them yes it's hard, but nothing worth having is ever easy.  Thank you Evan and Lauren for bringing this to RustonYa'll have made a huge difference in many peoples lives including mine. Thank ya'll so much!
